CHICAGO'S HOUSE: A CHECKLIST

What is house? If defined by the music made popular at the Warehouse in Chicago during its heyday, it might be best described by a list of a hundred tunes that were hits there. Not the records made in Chicago, but the records that influenced those records. This uptempo, bottom-heavy, funky music was made in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Italy, etc., but it was revered by Frankie Knuckles, Ron Hardy, and other Chicago deep house jocks.
